How to Upload SVG files to Cricut from an iPhone or iPad

Are you using your Cricut with an iPhone or iPad? Not sure how to unzip the SVG files you just purchased and add them to your Cricut App? Well today I am going to show you how to download our SVG files and then upload them to the Cricut Design Space app to use with your Cricut Cutting Machine from your iPhone or iPad (iOS 11 or later).

I am going to start off by saying, if you have a computer, it is more practical to manage your files and upload them to Design Space from a computer so that they are accessible from the app also. However, they can be purchased, downloaded and uploaded from your iPhone or iPad if you desire by following these steps.

STEP 1: Purchase an SVG file
On your iPhone go to Safari and visit diycrafttutorials.com or https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DIYCraftTutorials
Locate a free file or select a file to purchase, then go ahead and check out.

.
STEP 2: Download the .zip file and save to “Files”

When you have completed checkout, you will see a link to download your purchase. Click on the "download" button.

.

.

.

Once you tap download, you may notice that the little blue icon with a downward pointing arrow in the upper right corner of your screen. You can see where that icon is located on an iPhone screen in the image below. Tap the Download icon to proceed. The file will then go to your Downloads folder.

STEP 3: Decompress (unzip) the folder

Hold your finger down on the zip folder for a few seconds until a screen with options comes up. Tap on "Decompress".

.
.

.

.

Now when you look at your Downloads folder, you’ll see a folder with the same name right next to the zip file. Tap it to open the folder.

.

.

.

STEP 4: Upload SVG to the Design Space App

Once inside the folder, you’ll see all the contents … including the SVG Folder. Tap on the SVG File folder.

 .

.

Inside the "SVG" file folder is the SVG file. Now that you have located the SVG file, go to the Cricut App.

.

.

.

.

Inside the Cricut App, tap on New Project

.

.

.

.

Then tap on Upload and then Browse Files.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Locate the SVG you just saved into the downloads folder.

.

.

.

.

Add an image name and then tap on Save.

.

.

.

.

Now you can add your svg to your canvas and start making your project!
